Hi there! I'm a designer helping to shape and define brands in tech. I am an explorer of mediums, always looking to create meaningful and memorable brand expressions. I spent five years designing for Dropbox's brand team, and I'm currently designing at Zapier. If you are more curious about my work, don't hesitate to contact kellygaleano@gmail.com.

Dropbox Digital Campaign

Campaign that highlights the ease of mind that comes with using Dropbox

Dropbox / 2022

Our team launched a campaign for Dropbox in 2022 that emphasized the platform's advanced security features. As part of this effort, I contributed to the development of the campaign concept and provided art direction. We also partnered with motion artist Irene Suosalo to help execute our vision. Our campaign focused on the idea of 'Always on Security,' aiming to convey a sense of uninterrupted creativity and focus for Dropbox users.

Voice and Tone Handbook

Print artifact expressing the fundamentals of the Dropbox brand voice

Dropbox / 2021

The challenge for this project was to create something special for the launch of Dropbox's new brand voice and tone guidelines. What that something was, was also to be defined.

When we kicked off this project, we were well into year one of the pandemic. For an entire year, we had missed the physical company of each other at the office. We had been part of a few too many Zoom calls and stared at too many Paper docs and Slack messages. So with this fatigue of the new virtual world in mind, I proposed that we create a physical artifact and make this a beautiful handbook that dropboxers could keep on their desks to use as a part guidebook part notebook.

This handbook had a print run of 100 units, and digitally printed using only black color on 120gsm G.F. Smith Colorplan Mist, Citrine, Mandarine, and Rust, in an ensemble of Dropbox's warm color palette.

Permission to Speak

Identity design for Permission to Speak, a talk and workshop from writer LaDonna Witmer

Dropbox / 2020

One of the biggest challenges was to give this program an identity of its own and still feel familial to the Dropbox brand. My role was both to design and set the art direction. Working with my fellow designer on the project, we landed on the concept of introspection, inspired by the inwards journey that you embark on by doing LaDonna's workshop.

We explored spiraling and looping shapes that would convey this idea. Additionally, we had a set of existing metaphorical images that LaDonna loved and wanted to keep as part of the visuals of her program. We paired them with the organic shapes of the typographic compositions that we created, and it all came together very naturally as a whole.

Template design for downloadable kits that explore and build creative culture

The goal of this project was to create a beautiful set of kits that felt related to each other and aligned with the Dropbox brand. Our approach was to create a template that works as a foundation for these three kits, as well as any future kits to come.
